I tried to do handstands for you..everytime i fell for you!

"..So Please Please Please, let me..let me..let me get what i want, this time
..Lord knows it would be the first time.."

And then i saw it again on the plane!...and as the opening line was narrated by a sarcastically dry storyteller..i thought to myself..i should, no i NEED to shut it right now, before i ruin it and start hating it(like i have done with sooo many others). First time you watch soemthing your too busy following the storyline to observe the cracks and wrinkles secretly camouflaged in the backdrop. Second time you see it, everyones a critic!
It took all of my non-existent will power to muster up the courage to click the ''off'' button..and for once, i was grateful to my indecisive rabbit-heart- I did not shut it..and instead ended up surprising myself, and falling truly madly deeply in love all over again!

“I tried to do handstands for you..I'm permanently black and blue, permanently blue for you..”

And now I sit wondering why did they not include the song ‘Bruises by Chairlift’ to the movie soundtrack?!
Maybe it was too obvious a give-away, since it sort of decribes the storyline quite appropriatly! And they were going for a more subtle soundtrack listing..(which btw they did and EXCELLENT job with)..but there isnt really much subtlty in this movie- the Truth in it all, just subtly slaps you in the face..like an old maidens leather glove, from an old western!

The Good 'Ol Romance, that we once found in cliche'd early 90's movies with our Meg Ryans, Tom Hanks, Greg Kinnears, John Cusaks and early Hugh Jackmans (in his Pre-wolf-man-Buff-Bod Days)..An Era of Bad hair cuts , baggy-roll-out-of-bed clothes and even worse sunglasses' styles!
Those story-lines made your stomach churn, made you Yearn for that kind of feeling..that those actors so cleverly depicted in the movies..with every lingering look, every cheeky side smile, every passionate kiss..your heart did flip flops.. yes yes false hope.. breeding grounds for Fairytale dreams, greeting cards, and pointless holidays like Valentines day properganda.. BUT HEY! Maybe some people LIKE to live in their own little bubble, of fantasy world! Paris Hilton lives in hers..why should i be robbed of mine!
im not hurting anyone (except maybe myself) with my day dreaming?! Am i?

Yes I agree this particular movie does not give false hope and doesnt fill your head with dreams of the perfect man, waiting for you at the park corner with his adorable golden retriever..but it tells the TRUTH! SOMEONE ALWAYS GETS HURT.. Someone’s heart always gets ripped out and stomped on. And when Summer leaves him..("i think we need to take a break..its not you, its me..these are really good pancakes") you feel his pain, his heart slowly painfully tearing…and with each audible rip, your stomach too turns.. And yet she says that dreadfully fearful two lines with no feeling in her voice.."mmM these are good pancakes"

So simple..yet SO powerful!
Its just a movie..
i keep telling myself..

But i cant help, somehow...embedding myself into the cracks..like a book rummaging for answers in the pages ..as to HOW & WHY, we as human beings (with feelings) could be so cruel...and WHY we cant just turn off these feelings..like a light switch? Why does it physically hurt when the pain caused is only mental? why is it that two people cannot be on the same page?...

Favorite On-screen Couples

"I like to feel his eyes on me when I look away..." -Before Sunrise

TV and Movies, ruin it for us..from a very young age, they show us things that are never really there in real life..well not for everyone(maybe that ONE couple in 50 gets it)
But i thought id share all those couples and lvoe stories that turned me into what i am today..a dreamer, wanting, yearning, desperatly craving..all that they have..

Dharma & Greg.. a couple who got married after their first date, even though they were complete opposites. Its the perfect blend of the typical cliche's of 'love at first sight'and 'opposites attract', but this one is different because its comedy with intelligence adn their checmistry on-screen makes you WANT THAT.

Chuck & Sarah Walker..Another very cute couple, who dont actually become a couple till, well season 3(spoiler) and before that its two seasons of chemistry, pretend-dating, and overall puppy love(on chucks part) and what i love about the show more is, the girl-for once-is teh super spy and kicks ass.

Em & James..If you havnt seen the movie Adventureland, youl probably be lost. maybe its just me, maybe i love cliche's but this is the typical, bad girl, in a complicated relationship, but has a slight thing for the goody-two-shoes boy and in teh end, they get together. I felt the last scene when they do finally get together, profess their love for one another, is probably the best cliche'd scene iv seen in recent, romance movies.

Noah & Allie..im not even going to start to explain this couple..all im going to say is..The Notebook. 'nuff said.

Lorali & Luke..from Gilmore Girls..maybe its more that i love the show more then the couple, because the show makes the couple..and mind you im talking about the mum's relationship with Diner-man. Its got its ups and downs, but its how he is with her. she is neurotic and talks too much and he is cool calm and pure Alpha Male, with this sensitive core, that makes her dinner, genuinly loves her daughter and is THERE for her when her father has a stroke..its beautiful, and exactly what i want in my future husband.

Leonard & Penny..watch Big Bang Theory and ul know why..its geek meets hot girl, geek tries and tries and finally gets girl.

Buffy & Angel..again loved the show..loved the girl kicking vampire ass and then making out with cute vampire.

Serena & Dan..i know most people like blair and chuck, but i loved serena and dan in season 1..after season 1 the show lost its charm too..dont you think? Them sneaking kisses at school, holding hands, looking at each other the way they did..and i think it brought a little extra ummph that they were dating in real life too..just bring moreon-screen chemistry..
dont you think?

Mushaboom..mm..!

Blaxploitation

I came across something very interesting, and as usual, i assumed that not alot of other people out there would know about it either (since i believe the world revolves around me, and what i do, they do-hahah no im kidding)

Blaxploitation: Film genre originating from the U.S in the 70's when many exploitation films were made to target an audience of Urban Black people. (wiki)

Basically in other words, its movies, tv shows, etc. racist-ly, purely based on all things African American-black. But see its not racist since, its black people acting like black people, directed by black people, about the culture of black people...makes sense!
i mean if other people can make movies/tv shows based on their own popular culture, then why cant black people..and considering, in the last 10-20 years(or more) black culture is the coolest of cool's of all culture..am i right?
Its litrally embedded itself into all the other cultures..dance,music, vandalism(i know thats not cultural(doesnt define a society) but its also in a very racist generalization attached directly to the african americans)

Starting in 1965, with movies like,
Guess whose coming to dinner, Sidney Poitier paved the road for African Americans penetrating the predominantly white culture in movies, and sending a message that the black and white cultures CAN Cross paths.
This helped open doors that let other Black actors, composers, musicians come out and work side by side with the white culture, bringing with them their own touch of the GREAT talent AND a new age of movies and music with strong 'Political meaning'. Other artists like
Funkadelic, James brown, Sly's multiracial Family Stone, etc. all composed music with serious political messages and the RnB charts popularity showed that the people liked it.

Then by the 1970's Other famous Black talent emerged, with
Bill Cosby, Richard Pryo, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, etc. Movies which proved predominantly focussing on the Black Culture, featuring soundtracks of Funk, Soul, Rap, etc. and starring mostly Black actors, target marketing to a black audience were soon made commercial. The subject matter in these movies, was of interest to the Black people, portraying their African American culture..

..BUT as usual, since human beings tend to be so judgemental and sensitive, such films were accused of stereo typing the black population, especially with content of
pimps, drugs, dealers, etc.
Speaking of pimps, drugs and BIG hair, if you havnt ever come across any blaxploitation movie-firstly kill yourself secondly here are some suggestions, of the kinds you can watch.. (mostly funny, i put an asterix next to the REALLY good ones)
Foxy Brown
Pootie Tang *
UnderCover Brother *
Dr. Black and MR. Hyde
Blacula (dont laugh-its actually a movie, i googled it)
You want the serious stuff, watch Hero Ain't nothing but a Sandwich, (a movie about a 13 year olds drug addiction and how his mother and her boyfriend help him fight it)

..TO Be Continued*

500 days of Summer- my thoughts..

sooooo i just watched '500 days of summer' annndddd...
OMG it was awesome!!!
im a BIG softy when it comes to romantic movies/comedies
and this one hit a home run with me!

firstly let me say, the guy Jason something..(the little skinny one from third rock from the sun) OMG soo cute! and for the first time sweater-vest DO me!! wow! if i saw him singing kareoke like that in a bar id jump him.

secondly it was so 'Beautifully done'. kinda gave you little butterflies and made you smile (the shy silly sort of smile) and mind you, i was watching it all alone. and to smile the way i was(yes sounds stupid being alone and all) but it was very 'adorably done'.
id also like to add that the 'Pauses' were placed in all the RIGHT places..so kudos to the director!!

im sorry im trying but i CANNOT get over his cute little droopy sleepy eyes and shy smile, with just the right amount of little bit of stubble (i know i know i sound like a little 13 year old but im in love all over again- and hes not even my usual type which makes it even more exciting)

*music is GREAT too!

i suggest everyone should see it!
I LOVED IT!
and i can see myself watching it over and over and over and over again..

p.s i totally relate to Tom! TOTALLY! but i dont really blame summer for being the way she is..i think we all have a little bit of fear-the wall of distance and space- in us! but Tom...ohh sweet sweet Tom hanson!

anyays im rambling-dont want to spoil it-go watch it if you havnt!
:)
